Since 1950, Wesley Center has served, through its programs and services, the low-income, primarily Hispanic families, residing in this south-central Phoenix of Nuestro Barrio.

The challenges for this community are often overwhelming involving all issues of extreme poverty:

* Lack of education and employment
* High crime rate and school dropout issues
* Domestic violence and substance abuse
* Health issues such as diabetes – asthma – depression –etc.

Wesley Center addresses these challenges by promoting empowerment through positive change, through the following activities.

  • Comprehensive Youth Services Program for after school and during semester breaks. Please see the link under Wesley Kids on the left for more information.
  • Volunteer Management
      • Adult-youth mentoring tutoring

  • Centro de Salud Clinic – a health clinic that serves the community four days a week emphasizing health education. Please click on the Centro de Salud link on the left for more information
